Quenched

In my halls are tables laden with food to satisfy your soul. Do you know that you will only be satisfied in my presence? Indeed!

The world leaves you hungry and thirsty. It robs you of everything. Turn it off. Step away from the things you’ve turn to for satisfaction. They are leaving you bone dry and weary.

Now is not the time for you to be dry and empty. You must be quenched. You must be like a water soaked sponge that drips and drips. Only I can quench you that way. Stay with me. In my presence you will grow in muscle and stature.

You’ll be like a tree planted by a river that never goes dry. Can you picture it? Being constantly watered and nurtured by me. You will be a shelter for many, a refuge for the weary. Through you, I myself will provide for many. But you must stay wholly dependent on me. I, and I alone will do it.

For too long, you’ve depended on your own strength. Stop! It is not enough, no, not nearly enough. Do you want the very best? Better than you could ever imagine? Then step aside and let me do it. I will amaze you!

Only go where I tell you to go. Only do what I tell you to do. Put aside your ideas and let me inspire you. But to hear me, you must abide in my presence.

Listen, listen to my voice. I am not in the loud thunder, but in the still and gentle breeze. You must sit and be still. Slow down and be still. There’s joy in patience. There’s untold fruit and abundance in patience. Wait on me. Be still and listen. I tell you, truly, you will hear me.

“He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.”
Psalm 1:3 ESV
